Obituary for Tammy L. Finendale (DeGrave)

Tammy L. Finendale, 44, of Kingsford, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at her home.

She was born December 19, 1970, in Iron Mountain, Mich. daughter of Mark and Patty (Zaupa) DeGrave.

Tammy grew up in and attended school in Florence, Wis. She later graduated from Iron Mountain High School. She married Steve Finendale on May 30, 2000, they resided in Kingsford. Tammy always preferred to work where she could interact and be close to people. She enjoyed helping others and making them happy. Tammy was always the person that could make you smile and laugh, leaving you with a lasting impression. She idolized her father and his passing left a void in her life.

She enjoyed the outdoors, taking walks, fishing and camping. Tammy loved to travel to new places, and especially spending time with her husband as they traveled the shores of Lake Superior looking for rocks and agates. She enjoyed visiting old historic sites and museums, which brought the feeling of traveling back in time. Tammy loved spur of the moment camping trips up north not really knowing where she was going until she got there. These times will never be forgotten and truly missed.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Steve; one son, Travis (Dana Gauger) Finendale, Wausau, Wis.; her grandmother, Betty DeGrave (and her grandfather, who preceded, Lawrence DeGrave), Florence, Wis.; her mother, Patty (Dave Ponchaud) Nichols, Crystal Falls, Mich.; one sister, Nicki DeGrave, Florence; two half-brothers, Larry (Bethany) DeGrave, West V.A. and Landen DeGrave, Marinette, Wis.; one half-sister, Jessica (Jeff) Piech, South Bend, Ind.; special in-laws, Robert (Diane) Finendale, Iron Mountain, Laurie (Mike) Caruso, Iron Mountain and Julie Lord, Auburn Hills, Mich; one grandson, Aiden; one special nephew, Ethan as well as many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and her very good friends, Pattie Pientkewic, Lisa Visintainer and Sue Nanninga.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mark DeGrave and grandfather, Lawrence DeGrave.
