Obituary for Carolyn Cornelia Iddings (Carr)

Carolyn Cornelia (Carr) Iddings, 65, took her first breath on March 9, 1949 and her last on January 25, 2015, in Iron Mountain, Mich.

She loved God, his son, Jesus Christ, and her family here on earth.

Carolyn graduated from Waterford-Kettering High School, Class of 1967. She went on to attend Michigan State University, graduating in 1971, with a degree in Human Ecology. After graduation, Carolyn married William Iddings, they lived in Okemos, Mich. until 1977. She liked to create through sewing and two of her favorite jobs were at Jacobson's in East Lansing and the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

In 1977, Carolyn moved to Iron Mountain; she attended First Presbyterian Church, Kingsford and First Covenant Church, Iron Mountain. Carolyn was a past member of AAUW, GFWF and the Genealogical Society of Dickinson County. While living in Iron Mountain she worked as a medical lab courier.

Carolyn laughed often and always had a kind word for someone. She cherished her family time, at Lake Anna and Bush Lake, dearly.

She was best known for her free spirit, positive attitude, kindness and love of life and family. Carolyn knew the value of things in life that didn’t cost anything such as nature, friends, faith, family and love.

Carolyn is survived by her twin sister, Cynthia (Peter) Carr-Kramer, Greenfield, Mass. and their children, Adam and Ethan Kramer; one daughter, Elizabeth Nolan and grandson, William Nolan, Muskegon, Mich; cousins, Robert and Pamela Foster, Iron Mountain, and their children, Betsy Wellfare (Kyle) and Missy Jaska (Tim) and Missy's daughter Annaliese Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her adoring parents, Carl and Charlotte (Wyss)Carr and her brother, David Carr.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Carolyn’s Legacy of Life.
